„Realitatea Vâlceană” vă recomandă N-am venit să ţin un discurs de Gabriel García Márquez
Gabriel García Márquez mărturiseşte în această carte că a considerat mereu discursurile drept ”cel mai groaznic dintre compromisurile omeneşti”. Totuşi, acest clasic în viaţă a susţinut foarte multe discursuri memorabile şi a acceptat să publice acest volum, care reuneşte nu mai puţin de 22 dintre acestea.
Citirea acestor texte, prezentate pe parcursul a peste 60 de ani şi acoperind un evantai foarte larg de subiecte, ne îngăduie să ne facem o idee despre evoluţia personalităţii complexe a celui care a creat realismul magic. Toate discursurile sunt marcate de amprenta inconfundabilă a fabulosului continent latino-american, căci Márquez se identifică cu acesta cel puţin la fel de mult ca şi cu patria sa, Columbia. „Virtutea noastră cea mai mare este creativitatea şi totuşi n-am făcut mult mai mult decât să supravieţuim doctrinelor reîncălzite şi războaielor străine, moştenitori ai unui Cristofor Columb fără noroc, care ne-a găsit întâmplător când o pornise să caute Indiile”, spune scriitorul despre oamenii Americii Latine.
Aflăm din aceste discursuri cum a început Márquez să scrie, cum a creat “Un veac de singurătate”, dar şi ce crede despre poezie, jurnalism, cinema, politică sau ecologie. Poate fi reconstituită astfel o parte din biografia sa intelectuală deloc lipsită de controverse. Cei care au citit “Peştele în apă“ de Mario Vargas Llosa pot găsi similitudini izbitoare, dar şi diferenţe majore, între traseele pe care a evoluat viziunea despre viaţă şi lume a celor doi titani ai literaturii contemporane pe care i-a dat America Latină.
„Omenirea va intra în al treilea mileniu sub imperiul cuvintelor. Nu e adevărat că imaginea le ia locul şi nici că ar putea să le facă să dispară. Dimpotrivă, le întăreşte: niciodată n-au existat în lume atâtea cuvinte cu o asemenea rază de acţiune, autoritate şi forţă ca în acest uriaş Babel al vieţii actuale.”
Cititorule! Îţi lansez o provocare. O provocare a minţii şi a sufletului. Păşeşte alături de mine într-o altfel de lume. O lume în care scriitorul este Creatorul Absolut, o lume în care “cuvântul” este împărat, o lume în care cu toţii putem deveni “oşteni” ai literaturii: “mă simt cu adevărat capabil să vă înrolez pe toţi în oştile nu întotdeauna pacifice ale literaturii. Pentru început, vreau să vă spun doar o frază: “Cred că viaţa noastră a tuturor ar fi mai bună dacă fiecare dintre voi ar purta întotdeauna în traistă o carte.”"
Asta este lumea în care Gabriel Garcia Marquez este “Creatorul”, o utopie în care problema traficului de droguri este rezolvată, în care cursa înarmării s-a oprit, şi în care şcolile au încetat să urmeze “calea viciată a informării”, axându-se cu precădere pe formare. America Latină va fi “domniţa la ananghie”, pe care creatorii de valori, artiştii, încearcă de ani buni să o salveze.
De ce să citeşti o carte ce adună între paginile sale discursuri pe teme diferite, susţinute în ocazii diferite? Pentru că toţi cei ce iubesc lectura, aventura, fantasy-ul, dramatismul, emoţia, au nevoie să pătrundă şi în “culisele” scrisului, au nevoie să “vadă” că autorul este tot un om, dar înzestrat cu har, ce a ajuns acolo unde este prin multă muncă şi sacrificii, ce nu şi-a pierdut omenia, modestia, umorul şi speranţa într-o lume mai bună. Să-i lăsăm pe cei ce merită să fie ascultaţi să ne îndrume şi să ne plecăm cu respect în faţa adevăratelor valori: “Într-o zi ca aceasta, maestrul meu William Faulkner a spus chiar aici:”Refuz să accept sfârşitul omului”. Nu m-aş simţi vrednic să ocup acest loc care a fost al lui dacă n-aş avea pe deplin conştiinţa că, pentru prima oară din zorii omenirii, dezastrul uriaş pe care el refuza să-l admită acum treizeci şi doi de ani nu este astăzi decât o simplă posibilitate ştiinţifică. În faţa acestei realităţi cutremurătoare care de-a lungul timpului uman a părut pesemne o utopie, noi, născocitorii de poveşti care credem totul, ne simţim îndreptăţiţi să credem că nu este încă prea târziu pentru a făuri utopia contrară. O nouă şi năvalnică utopie a vieţii, unde nimeni să nu poată hotărî pentru alţii până şi felul în care să moară, unde iubirea să fie cu adevărat sigură şi fericirea posibilă, şi unde neamurile condamnate la un veac de singurătate să aibă în sfârşit şi pentru totdeauna o a doua şansă pe Pământ.”
