Chiar dacă nici de data asta nu a iesit victorioasă, SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea a demonstrat că poate să joace de la egal la egal (cel puțin în prima repriză 17-17) cu echipe puternice, cum e și gruparea Rapid, campioană în Liga Florilor. Aici menționăm paradele portăriței Daciana Hosu, intervențiile finalizate ale Jovanei Kovacevic etc!
După ce au ajuns să conducă și la 3 goluri diferență, vâlcencele au lăsat garda jos în defensivă, simțindu-se clar absența Asmei, au ratat câteva ocazii, astfel că la final Rapidul s-a impus cu 36-33.
În ultimele minute ale partidei a avut loc un moment de panică, atunci Jovana Kovacevic de la SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea pur și simplu a leșinat din cauza epuizării și căzut din picioare fiind nevoie de intervenția medicilor echipei care au stabilizat-o, însă ea nu a mai revenit în meci, urmârind dezamăgită, după cât suflet a pus, finalul de pe bancă.
Trebuie reamintit și faptul că după o victorie entuziasmantă cu Krim Ljubljana, 30-24 și o calificare de vis în sferturile Ligii Campionilor, Rapid s-a întors în campionat pentru partida cu Râmnicu Vâlcea și, așa cum am spus, a câștigat pe teren propriu, 36-33.
Cu 20 de meciuri jucate, Rapid este pe locul 3, cu 49 de puncte. SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea e pe 6, cu 35 de puncte, iar pe locul I este CSM București, la mare distanță de puncte, clar viitoare campioană a României în acest sezon.
